Russia is a federation with a shared power between the president and prime minister, though the president really has all the power. The government is strict, allowing its citizens some power in holding businesses, but ultimately, controls the economy. Russia has a mixed economy. The United States also has a mixed economy just like Russia does. A mixed economy is when the people have their own say and make their own decisions for their businesses, however there is still government intervention when needed.
