Consumer Spending in Russia is reported by the Federal State Statistics Service. Russian consumers follows a very precise version of the business cycle. It is a business cycle that continually expands. The peaks of each cycle is higher than the one before, which shows hat Russia's unemployment rate is falling faster and faster which will result in an increase in GDP. However, after each peak there is a very steep drop in spending, which shows that there is a price to pay after each peak. For instance, consumers may spend large amounts of money only to have unemployment rates suddenly rise. This will result in less spending, until the cycle starts expanding again reaching another peak. Eventually the GDP will always experience growth at the peak.
